It has been very nice to hear from children and adults around the country telling me that they like my books and the wonderful illustrations.
Here are a few comments.
Conner Annett  age 4 reading 'On the Farm'
Here's Conner again with his baby brother Gavin.  Gavin looks a little distressed.
Do you think it's that
scary 'ole rooster
Cock-a-doodle-do
that has him worried?

J. Schafer from Tennessee is the father of two young children, Zachary and Reghan.  He recently sent an email to me several months after receiving
ON THE FARM:

We read the book again this evening.  The red and white checkered spine stands out nicely on the book shelf!  It is a wonderful book.  Zachary and Reghan begin pointing to everything on the pages before I can finish reading each description.  We have 159 childen's books that range from give a mouse a cookie to snowmen at night to put me in the zoo to good night moon to guess how much I love you to on the farm.  But there is only one where we have a connection to the author as indicated by her signature inside the front cover.  That makes it our favorite!

Dear Mrs. Chambers,
I ordered a copy of "On the Farm" from your website a few weeks ago for my little boy and wanted you to know that it has become his favorite book.  He asks us to read it to him every day.
I think I have it memorized!  It's a very sweet book and the illustrations are so nice.

Dear Mrs. Chambers,
You are a great poetry writer.  Your poetry is so insperational (sic) to me and I'm sure it is insperational (sic) to everybody else!  If you run into Linda Walker, tell her that I said she is a great artist.  Our teacher had us pick our favorit (sic) poem in the whole book.  I picked the "I" poem.  It is a very good poem.  I think it is the best poem I have ever read in the history of poems.

Dear Linda,
A book of poetry that satisfies an adult as well as a child is a hard thing to write and you have succeeded in doing both in ABC POETRY.
Words gambol and lilt, cavort and sing, playing with the eye and the mind, creating mental pictures, leading one on and on - wanting more and well as learning.  And, best of all, there is a glossary, hidden in the back, where words can describe themselves and lead to that special place known as a Dictionary!
All in all, this is the "Best of the Best" and one that will be a joy to own for many years to come.

"Linda Chambers is a wonderful story teller and educator through poetry. She has created charming stories that introduce the reader to poetry, a huge vocabulary (with glossary), and beautiful illustrations.  Mrs. Chambers' books will certainlydelight children of all ages and
encourage an appreciation for reading.I am a realtor and I purchase her books as gifts to my clients with children.  And, most of all, I enjoy reading them to my little grandson who will someday enjoy reading them on his own!  We cannot wait for Mrs. Chambers' next books!"

A gentleman from California ordered my books as a gift.  Along with his remittance was this nice note:  "Dear Linda,  Thank you so much for sending the books.  They are beautiful!  I am so impressed and the stories are wonderful.  I couldn't help it, I had to read them.  I will be ordering more in the near future."

"The Littlest BULL is authentic and enjoyable, remaining true to the cowboy spirit - a great gift for adults and children interested in rodeo and bull riding, but would also be entertaining to those unfamiliar with the lifestyle."

These handsome boys are, left to right, Gavin and Connor Annette.  These photos were sent to me about three years ago.  Their mama wrote that ON THE FARM was Connor's favorite book.  She said, "He pretty much knows every word.  I have to read that book to him every night whether or not we read someting else.  EVERY NIGHT!!!"  Since then Mama Heather has purchased all my other books for the boys.
"CHEROOT is a sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat woodland story.  Your children, like my five children, will root for and cheer onCheroot through his colorful adventure.  Simply one of the best children's books we've read!"
